Scope of work

Solar installation services, from pile driving to commissioning

The installation scopes of a large PV plant, carried out as a subcontractor with our own crews, equipment and PPE, on the ground and on industrial roofs.

Four stages

Solar pile driving and installation, one contractor

The core of our work follows the order of a ground-mounted site.

01 · Pile

Pile driving and predrilling

Foundation piles for the field.

Pile driving and predrilling
02 · Structure

Structures, trackers, modules

Fixed structures, trackers and module installation.

Structures, trackers, modules
03 · Cable

DC/AC cabling, LV and MV

Cables, trays, earthing, LV and MV, substations.

DC/AC cabling, LV and MV
04 · Start-up

Commissioning

Testing, acceptance and energisation.

Commissioning

01 · Pile driving and predrilling

Foundation piles driven according to the design drawings: position, alignment, head level and embedment depth. Where the ground is hard or rocky, predrilling opens the way for the pile. Pile accuracy is the first condition for well-aligned structures and, even more, for trackers.

02 · Structures, trackers and modules

Fixed structures and single-axis trackers mounted on the piles following the supplier’s manual, with bolts tightened to the specified torque. Modules installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions: clamping zones, torque, no bending, no loads on installed modules. Unloading of materials on site is part of our scope.

03 · DC/AC cabling, LV and MV

String cabling and connectors, DC and AC cables, cable trays, earthing, LV and MV systems and substation installation, following the client’s electrical design. Cables are pulled into ducts prepared by the civil works contractor.

04 · Commissioning

CCTV, SCADA and weather stations, then testing, acceptance and energisation following the client’s and manufacturers’ procedures, including tracker movement tests where applicable.

Other scopes

Rooftops, revamping and fencing

Rooftop

Industrial roofs

Aluminium structures on trapezoidal metal sheet, modules and cabling, with watertight fixings and safe work at height.

Existing

Revamping

Removal of existing modules, palletising, installation of new modules and adaptation of cabling, sector by sector to limit downtime.

Perimeter

Fencing

Posts, mesh and gates along the perimeter, including driven posts where the design requires them.

How we work

Rules that do not change between countries

  • Own crews, equipment and PPE in every scope awarded.
  • No sub-subcontracting: one company between you and the site.
  • Large plants only, ground-mounted and rooftop.
  • The client’s design and the manufacturers’ manuals as the technical reference.

Quotes are prepared on the client’s bill of quantities, stating for each item whether it is in our scope and under which assumptions and exclusions.

Why one subcontractor pays off

Every handover between companies is also a handover of responsibility. When the same organisation drives the piles, mounts the structures, pulls the cables and runs the tests, a deviation found in one stage is corrected inside that organisation, without disputes between contractors. For the client it means one pre-qualification, one contract to manage and fewer companies working in the same areas at the same time.

The advantage grows with plant size and schedule pressure. On utility-scale sites, where stages overlap block by block, every interface removed is a risk removed; on sites abroad, it also means fewer suppliers to coordinate far from the head office.

FAQ

Questions about our scope

Do you install single-axis trackers?

Yes. We install trackers following the manufacturer’s manual: supports and bearings, torque tube, drives and modules, and we coordinate with the manufacturer’s technical staff where required.

Do you carry out predrilling?

Yes. Predrilling is part of our scope, where the design or the client’s site management requires it in hard or rocky ground.

Do you carry out MV works and commissioning?

Yes. LV and MV systems, substation installation, earthing, CCTV, SCADA, weather stations, testing, acceptance and commissioning are part of our scope, following the client’s procedures.

Do you work on industrial roofs?

Yes. On large industrial roofs we install aluminium structures on trapezoidal metal sheet, modules and cabling.

Do you dispose of modules during revamping?

No. We remove the existing modules and palletise them for collection. Collection and disposal must be handled by an authorised waste operator appointed by the client.

Do you work on piles driven by another contractor?

Yes, after checking the as-driven piles with the client: position, levels and alignment. Deviations are reported before mounting starts, when they are easier to resolve.

How is safety organised on site?

Our crews work with their own PPE, under our company’s direction, following the client’s site safety plan and the procedures required for electrical work and work at height.

Who supplies materials and lifting equipment?

The client. We unload materials on site; handling with lifting equipment and the supply of modules, structures and materials remain with the client.
